Ventura Lambrate 2013 focuses on the visualisation of upcoming trends, design methods, visions and approaches. Several themes emerge this year including extensive student works, the thin line between art and design, emerging and established talents, creative kitchens, processes and the world of design commerce. A particularly strong trend focuses on design processes, whereby designers are designing the actual production methods and processes and machines as opposed to only the final products.
Two new collective exhibitions are introduced this edition. Ventura at Work offers designers more dynamic exhibition possibilities (for instance for onsite performances or demonstrations), especially for those focused on (self) production, processes and research. Ventura Warehouse brings together young talents at the beginnings of their careers. Furthermore, the Curator's Choice exhibition curated and sponsored by Organisation in Design gives a select group of designers a special platform to present their work to the professional public.
This year also sees the launch of the daily free newspaper Ventura Lambrate Today, which is produced by a dedicated onsite team that works around the clock to bring the latest news, snapshots and reviews to visitors every day.
