How it began
Ventura Projects has been founded and is curated and produced by Organisation in Design.
Captivated by the abundance of disused industrial spaces around the city, Organisation in Design was the one first to open up the doors of locations such as Ex-Ansaldo (today BASE) in via Tortona, to present the personal exhibition of Studio Marcel Wanders.
This unique expertise was systematised in 2010 with the first edition of Ventura Projects, located in the industrial area of Lambrate in the north east of Milan. This has led to the opening up of several iconic spaces of the city such as Garage San Remo at a few steps from the Dome of Milan with a one shot Ventura X edition by Maarten Baas, the amazing Magazzini Raccordati, the previous warehouses of Milan Central Station, which are now the headquarters of Ventura Centrale.
Thanks to Ventura Projects, several other unknown Milanese venues began important epicentres for designers and brands wishing to present themselves at the Milan Design in an inspiring set. As confirmation of the success of this formula, Ventura Projects began a format of selected design exhibitions exported around the world. Starting from 2011 Ventura Projects have been presented in London, New York, Berlin, Kortrijk, and the last addition to the family is Ventura Dubai. Together, these different design exhibitions form Ventura Projects, a flexible concept that can be realised simultaneously with major design events.
