How it began

Ventura Projects is founded, curated and produced by Organisation in Design. The first Ventura Project started in 2010 when – after 10 years of experience with scouting design talents and organising exhibitions in Milan – Organisation in Design met the architect and cultural entrepreneur Mariano Pichler, who was working on a major plan to regenerate the post-industrial district of Lambrate in northeast Milan.

Captivated by the impressive industrial spaces and in response to the design industry's need for alternative exhibition opportunities during the Salone del Mobile/ Fuorisalone, this led to the initiation of a completely new design district called Ventura Lambrate. After two successful editions in Milan, the concept expanded in the spirit of Ventura Lambrate, into established design events starting with Qubique in Berlin, continuing to Biennale Interieur in Kortrijk, Belgium and then to the London Design Festival. Together, these different design exhibitions form Ventura Projects, a flexible concept that can be realised simultaneously with major design events.
